WH: New Garden is a campus of Woodmont Hills Church that meets on Sundays at 10:00am at Dupont Tyler Middle School. 431 Tyler Dr. Hermitage, TN 37076
What to expect:
On Sundays, we have a worship gathering that begins at 10am. This gathering includes singing songs of praise, a teaching moment from Scripture, and a time of Communion. Dress however you feel most comfortable, t-shirts, flip-flops, dresses and ties are all welcome. Our time together formally concludes around 11:15am. What about Kids?
Most Sundays, our Kids are invited to Kids’ Praise about 15 minutes into our main gathering time. This time is led by our Family Minister and staffed by volunteers. All the Kids sing songs together before the Sprouts (preschool) go to their separate space. Both Kids (K-5th) and Sprouts (preschool) have an age appropriate Bible lesson and activities. Kids (K-5th) share communion together during Kids Praise. Our goal is that kids hear about Jesus and have fun!
On occasion, we will have a Family Sunday, which means that our K-5th graders stay with us in the auditorium for the whole hour. When this happens, we make some changes to our typical worship time to celebrate their presence, and we have pre-prepared worksheets and coloring pages that match the morning’s theme.
Our Story: One Church in Two Locations
In 2018, New Garden Church started meeting at Dupont Tyler Middle School in Hermitage, TN. We sold our old church building and went mobile trying to be better stewards of our resources and do more in our community. Since then, we have experienced a lot of change (who hasn’t!?), but what hasn’t changed is our desire to be a group that is known for what we’re FOR, not what we’re against. And we’re FOR Hermitage.

Since January 2024, New Garden has been a Hermitage campus of Woodmont Hills Church. In 2022, we began to discuss what a partnership between our two churches could look like. The New Garden Church loved the Hermitage community and wanted to serve it better, while having a little more organizational stability and shared leadership. What they found in Woodmont Hills was a church community that has the same tradition, values, and mission. Every step of the way, the proverb has been true. Instead of two churches in two locations, we are now one church in two locations. This means worshipping, serving, and having fun together!
NEW GARDEN SHEPHERDS
Josh & Olsa Whitson
Josh & Olsa began serving as Shepherds of the New Garden Campus in the Fall of 2023. They work alongside the Woodmont Campus Shepherds to lead our church prayerfully and take care of people and families.

New Garden Ministry Staff:
Michael Clinger
Michael serves as the Lead Minister at the New Garden Campus. This often looks like teaching on Sunday mornings, connecting our church family with good things happening in our neighborhood, and helping people to connect with God & each other. Michael has been on staff with our church family in Hermitage since 2017.

Sidney SMith
Sidney serves as the Family Minister at the New Garden Campus. This means she connects weekly with Students on Sunday nights and leads Kids’ Praise on Sunday mornings. She works closely with the Student and Children Ministries at the Woodmont Campus to connect New Garden families into whole church happenings. Sidney became the Family Minister at the New Garden Campus in 2025 after working working for a few years with Woodmont Hills Student Ministry.
